Authorities were investigating the death of a man whose body was found this morning in a Joliet park.

The man, whose identity was being withheld pending family notification, was found this morning in Highland Park, 2500 Highland Park Drive, in Joliet, according to the Will County coroner’s office. Authorities declared him dead at 8:13 a.m. on the scene, according to the office.

The cause and manner of the man’s death was yet to be determined, pending an autopsy expected today and police investigation, according to the coroner’s office.

Joliet Police were conducting a death investigation but were releasing no information on the case this afternoon.
